Can digital signage be used for interactive purposes?

I have been asked if it's possible to build an interactive directory where visitors coming to our office can search departments and people.

We have an older Wayfinder, but the software is old and clunky and we're looking to replace it with a standalone touch screen running Windows.

Yes. By going to settings under your screen and toggle on Optimize for Touchscreen you're preparing the media player for touch. Having done that comes the hard part Now you gotta create your content. There is a guide here: https://playsignage.com/support/touch/, but the general idea is that you can add touch areas everywhere in your content to move between slides. Try it out, you'll find out it's very easy working with touch in our editor.
